It is worth mentioning that the Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz said that he would seek a permission from Mazuz to resume demolishing the houses of militants who carried out bombing operations against Israel.
B'TSELEM Organization pointed out that the policy of house demolition for alleged military purposes is a dangerous violation against international humanitarian law, illegitimate policy, targets innocents, moreover, Israel carried out this policy against people although they were involved in attacks, or attempted attacks, against Israeli civilians or security forces.
B'TSELEM added that Israeli Occupation Forces have demolished 667 Palestinian houses in the occupied territories since October, 2001, whereas 4.200 citizens were made homeless.
In February 17, 2005, Chief of Staff in the Israeli occupation army; Moshe Yalon and Mofaz ratified stopping house demolition for punishment purposes because it is not deterrent.
